Includes instructions for holding sessions of Oyer and Terminer (leaf 3), of Gaol Delivery (leaf 7), and of the Peace (leaf 77); many sample indictments, covering a wide range of subjects, also some writs recognizances, etc. Most of the examples are from Essex, and the manuscript may have been used by an Essex Justice of the Peace. Additions in a later hand, ca. 1620, after leaf 78, and at beginning, including index of statutes not in this manuscript. Back of manuscript is concerned with the Council of the Marches of Wales.
